Our tour took us from Rome to Venice to Florence to Nice to Paris   (with many stops in between!) - WOW!!
We began in Rome where we walked in the steps of Julius Caesar at the Colosseum and Roman Forum. We toured the Vatican, threw coins into the Trevi Fountain and climbed the Spanish Steps.
On to Venice where we entered via the Grand Canal, strolled from St Mark's Square to the Rialto Bridge and went via boat to see the Venetian Glass Blowers.
In Florence (the Cradle of the Renaissance), we visited Michelangelo's David, visited Signoria Square, the Ponte Vecchio Bridge and had dinner in the Tuscan hills.
We then went on to Nice on the French Riviera. We walked on the famous Promenade des Anglais and had lunch in Nice's Old Town. From here we also visited fantastic Monaco and gambled away a few coins at the Monte Carlo Casino.
We then took the high speed "TGV" train (160 MPH) to amazing Paris. Here we saw the Eiffel Tower all lit up at night, went up and down the Champs-Elysees, ate at a couple of wonderful Paris cafes, visited the Palace of Versailles with its wonderful gardens and on our last night went to the famous Moulin Rouge dinner show.
As listed above, we visited many of the most interesting cities in Italy and France. It addition, we stoped en route and visited Assisi, Ferrara and Pisa in Italy as well as the principality of Monaco and Cannes, St. Paul de Vence and Versailles in France. All were terrific places to visit and offered both interesting as well as educational opportunities.
On September 11th, we flew from Charles DeGaulle airport, Paris to JFK entirely exhausted and ready to be home!
The photos included are only a representative sample of over 400 photos we took which do little justice to the many magnificent and interesting things we saw and did (and people we met).
